Download Curriculum Vitae List of Main Publications Research and Teaching StatementI'm Iurii Mitrankov, Research Associate at the elementary particles physics department at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
Since 2018, I have been a member of the PHENIX collaboration. My Ph.D. research is devoted to studying the features of \(\phi\)-meson production in \( \rm{Cu+Au}\) and \(\rm{U+U}\) collisions in the PHENIX experiment. I measured transverse momentum spectra, nuclear modification factors, and elliptic flow for \(\phi\) mesons and compared the results to various MC model calculations. The analysis details, obtained observables and conclusions are summarized in the paper.
Since 2020, I have been guiding students in analyzes of the production of various hadrons and direct photons in different collision systems at PHENIX. I am also one of the authors of several PHENIX papers on hadron production and a member of the internal review committee for the article on two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations. Besides, I participate in the SPD collaboration, which aims to investigate the spin structure of nucleons. Students under my supervision apply machine learning methods and various theoretical models to calculate future observables in the SPD.
Since 2019, I have additionally been working as a teaching assistant at SPbPU. I teach a self-developed course in elementary particle physics and the course on neutron and neutrino physics developed by PNPI.
I'm married to beautiful Mariia Mitrankova.
